fawk... guy came over... opened up the top of the dryer (that is access to everything) reclosed it, and it worked... so he figured he was done, and he left.
By the time my Dad called and told me the guy was gone and it was too late to get him back... sure enough I came home and it's the exact same problem... I tried it 10 times and 8 times it didn't work, twice it started...
Called back - next appointment is Monday.
This time I opened the thing up, read the little booklet, pulled the diagnostic code- door actuator not responding or taking too long to close- basically, as a top loading dryer- this has a door that slides around the cylinder before it starts spinning- but most of the time this door isn't quite latching all the way... I took a lot of things apart and put it back- there's some deformed metal 'springs' that don't look like traditional round springs but are springy none the less... The remedy in the manual for this problem is to replace the door actuator...
Now do I call back the appliance place and tell them that- more then likely they won't care...
Only thing is... dad said the tech had a terrible speech impettiment... he speeks like "m mm m mm m m mm m m m machhhhhh machhinneeeeeee" so I can't really express my views at loudly, boldly, and directly as I would with someone who didn't have such an obvious problem.
I wonder should I just buy a new fricken washer? Something that has a 2 year manufaturers warranty- probably be had for less then $1 a day over 2 years and any time it lasts after that is just extra.
