Why are french doors so expensive?

The Anderson Doors are so much better than the lesser brands, that the $2500 almost makes sense. I am still going with the neuma doors due to budget constraints though.

French doors over sliders for the convienance and quietness in opening them, additionally, no tracks to step over and you can open up the entire 72 inches when you need to bring in something big or just want to leave them open for a party or great weather. A slider you can not even open the full 36 side in most cases.

i took my slider apart so many times to get stuff through, i got to a point where never even put the screws in

Because they are "entry systems"

And they need to be better engineered for such a span.

Andersen makes some nice stuff. Probably not 2500 bucks nice but I wish I had their Windows in my house. Not this shitty jeldwen shit.

Marvin makes good stuff. 90% of Andersen's lineup is pure builder grade.

I think it's to keep the WT buying sliders, just one more detail to help us keep our nice houses looking better than your bargain-bin shitboxes.
