OK, basically what I had to do was turn the rign about 180 degrees between two spirals of the spring... Do that it slides right off... do it again it goes right back on.

you almost have me believing that you really had trouble figuring it out.


the solution was revealed in this post:

you can visualize it and there's no "trick" holding you back.


for that matter... you could've rotated the ring in the direction of the curved yellow arrow, keeping it at the same angle etc and just set it down and it would've been seperated from the spring, laying under it.

oh... an you were correct in that it really is just one line with a loop on the end. if either of those loops are smaller than the ring then obviously it's going to fit through.

and I wouldn't be surprised if you put the two pieces back in your pocket seperately that they'd find themselves eventualy reassembled.

It wasn't that simple... without the "flip" of the ring it would never have come off.

the one guy posted a solution... here's the one I'm trying to get across:




all you needed to do is pickup the upper left part of the ring and bring it up and over that end of the spring and then place it flat on the surface (carpet?) and then they're seperated and you can pick up the spring.

I've never seen or heard of such a simple brain teaser actually.

to place it back on the spring, follow the reverse directions of the other person that solved it... just bring the spring in the middle of the ring and then drop the ring in place. then hand it off to a 6yr old so they can solve it. :wavin2:

I've said it before: For as smart as Joe can be at times, on certain subjects, he can really be a dumbass. Personally, I have no problem seeing him spending hour after hour on it.
