Mattress shopping, bob-o-pedic?

I don't know if I'd want to trust a mattress called a "bob-o-pedic". I just have this bad feeling about what "Bob" might have been doing on it prior to selling said mattress.

youll sweat your a** off on it...trust me i had one i hated it. get a regular mattress
Are you fat? We have it and it's like no other. I used to get up once a night but not anymore. We've had it for almost a year now. I've also read of people complaining that they sweat but I think that maybe because that they're fat. Just a hunch.

My wife and I are slightly overweight (you can't tell we're overweight) and we have no issues with sweating.

My wife also recommended Tempurpedic to a co worker and he now swears by it.

It's pricey but highly worth it. You can always return it after the trial period but you won't trust me :)

I am reading mixed reviews on the net about the bob-o-pedic, some say it is very inferior to the tempurpedic, others say it is good. :puzzled:

Then there are the air mattresses, including this company whom supposedly started the whole concept

I picked up the memory foam mattress from Costco a while back and I slept a lot better, but not a WHOLE lot better. Then Overstock was selling a 2 inch topper and 2 memory foam pillows for $69. Picked that up, and now I sleep like a baby. Total cost: ~$550. They are warmer than a regular mattress, but I imagine I'm going to appreciate that more in the winter. Through the summer I slept with the air on a few nights, but it wasn't so warm that I was sweating.

rents have queen size memory foam mattress. I stayed overnight there one night when they were out of town, and it was pretty fawking comfortable.

A lot of Bob's Discount Furniture mattresses are made by Serta...they even have the Serta label on them. Problem is that they are the reject Serta mattresses.

I bought one from Bob's Discount a while back...kept rolling into the middle of the bed when 2 people on it. Exchanged it for another Serta bed...same problem.

Its all junk. If you're buying a mattress, dont buy it from Bob - you're buying the reject mattresses of other companies that Bob relabel as his.

Some of the furniture, though, is pretty nice and at a good price.

Simmons Beautyrest Pillowtop.

Youll thank me later.
I heart my Sealy pillow-top. :yup: Very comfortable, but the mattress is so damn deep I have problems getting the sheets on... I am very fussy about my sheets though, so until they start making the ones I like for deeper mattresses, I guess I will have to deal.

Sleep Number > Tempurpedic...
I haven't tried this one yet, but if the g/f and I live together, that'll be the bed we get. I like my side plush, she likes it hard as a rock. Sleep Number will solve that problem.

She complains there's no bounce to my mattress now (the memory foam). She can't tell me why other than "I don't like it." I think it's because she has to work harder. :pirate:
