Interior paint colors

Instead of a HUGE fridge, I'd just rather have a backup fridge for beverages. We have a chest freezer also out in the garage, which makes life much nicer.

An extra fridge is very helpful. When we moved we put our old fridge in the shop and bought a new one to fit in the kitchen. The shop fridge is indispensible. Another addition in the new house was the ice machine, especially having a pool. :thup2:

GJ,

I like the color in your living and the kitchen. Although I do know what you mean about the colors never photographing well.

When we were building, we went all around touring new homes. Lots of golds, yellows, tans, beiges, browns, greens - generally bold-ish earthy tones are ~in~ now.

Everything we saw looked good. But picking it out wasn't easy. We went with a green.

I like those baseboards.

Funny how brand new basesboards look remarkably similar to the 80yr old ones in the main living areas of my house (they skimped in the bedrooms where you were not trying to impress.)
That is one nice thing. These days they are making some very nice repro stuff for homes and the prices aren't bad at all. The idea of building my new "old" home is becoming stronger and stronger.

Here's one of my favorite parts of the house. The fireplace:

Our trim-carpenter was meticulous. I basically described the look I was after... And he came up with the above. I was super happy when he was done. Even happier how it all looked painted, tiled and with the floor stained.

The ones in the main living areas of the house (living room, dining room, kitchen) are quite nice. The ones in the hall/bath/bedrooms are plain.

All walls in my house are the color "cream" so said the builder. I don't like "Willy Wonka" interiors (radicial color changes) in houses, but if they're mild transitions and done right they're nice.
