Meh, it doesn't look bad. A darker color would hide grout lines much better. But based on the fact I really hate grout lines on countertops, I wouldn't do it either, in my kitchen. However, for cost savings, I'd consider it on a bar top in the basement where it may not be as much a part of the whole package, or focal point like it would be in a kitchen.Honestly, I would never do that.
I would personally never put it in a house I intended to live in though. Slab or nothing. IMHO. I wasn't about to get into replacing cabinets and slab granite for a $210k house. Would have LOST big money on that.Absolutely, I think yours came out very nice. ROI was great in that instance.
Yes, thats what is so nice about the Benissimo tiles. The edges really make it look like slab...and if you pick the right color grout, especially with 1/16" grout lines, it looks quite nice. If he had a different angle, Im sure you could see the grout lines, but that one just doesnt show them. It's tile?![]()
To you it may not, to me it smells of flipper.Meh, it doesn't look bad.
The funny part is formica would have been nearly double the cost.To you it may not, to me it smells of flipper.
I admit, in that pic it doesn't look bad, though I still would never want it for my own home. Seen too much of it in person, just not a fan, especially from what I have seen after the home settles. A slab can stand movement, the tiles don't take it so well.Yes, thats what is so nice about the Benissimo tiles. THat bullnose is slick. Much better than the square edge I used which was seperate from the actual tiles.Another one, grout lines are clear in this one.

Say no more. I'm all about savings, and if that's true, hello granite tiles, goodbye formica. I could live with small grout lines. The funny part is formica would have been nearly double the cost.![]()
Good thing you weren't my target market.Still wouldn't want that in my home.
You are going to do the work yourself?Say no more. I'm all about savings, and if that's true, hello granite tiles, goodbye formica. I could live with small grout lines.
And also you must keep in mind, never said it doesn't look much better than what you started with.Good thing you weren't my target market.
True. The Formica figure was installed. I had $470 in materials, and my labor/install was not included. You are going to do the work yourself?
I don't recall cleaning ever coming up in the discussion. For now, it's all about the :blingx2:laminate is easier to clean.
Never assume the JU collective is capable of doing their own work.True. The Formica figure was installed. I had $470 in materials, and my labor/install was not included.
