Benissimo granite tile

Bullitt [JU]

Archived
Expensive....but not outrageous. Quite a bit cheaper than slab. In the link with pics, the guy paid $29 for outside corners, $26 for inside corners and $10 for field tiles.
Wow that's really not bad. I was expecting $50+ per foot. I may have to consider this for the next project.

Grout lines on a counter = the lose. However, if you're on a tight budget, gotta have granite, and there is a SIGNIFICANT cost savings, go for it. I say "significant" because why have grout lines if it cost a couple/few hundred more to get a slab?

edit: I see some replies are posted now with $/sqft. I'll have to look and see what we're paying for our slabs to compare.

I did my kitchen for under $500 all inclusive. Slab would have run 2-3K.

Damn pricey, but more attractive than the edge pieces I used.
I think they look great..but one thing I really like is that they design them for a 24" cabinet, so you do not need the strip at the back. The bullnose piece is actually 12"x13.5" or something, so a bullnose and a field will fit perfectly on a 24" surface and still give the overhang. And the precut mitred inner corners are really nicely done.

***Supposedly*** they are half the price of slab, but of course, that depends on the job and the price you can get. If you have a ton of inner and outer corners, it will add up quickly.

Not with the Benissimo granite, correct? What kind of tile did you use? Ceramic? I just hate the look of grout lines on a counter. Ceramic would have bigger grout lines (most likely) than the granite or something like a marble...maybe almost a 1/4" (ceramic) vs. 1/8" or so?

edit: I don't like ceramic tile for counters either.

Granite tile with edge pieces.

If you use an epoxy grout, then you dont have to worry about them staining. I think they look nice...slab is of course the nicest, but these look good.

That does look nice in the pic. It's hard to see any visible grout lines, but agian, that's a pic. Being there and seeing it may paint a different picture. Based on that pic alone, I'd consider something like that. If I saw it up close, and saw pretty discernable grout lines, I'd probably still consider it for a bar in the basement or something. Especially for the cost savings.
