I used to dump old coolant in the drainage ditch that lead under the scenic highway and right in to lake superior across the street

Doesn't that leave tap water inside the engine/cooling system?

If not, how do you get the tap water out and ensure that you get the right mixture going back in?

This is what I have never understood about coolant flushes.

You are supposed to use distilled water only, but if you flush with tap water then WTF?

Doesn't matter. Just buy two jugs of premixed, dump it in and roll with it

I have a hole in my overflow tank so it all evaporates out. I'm going to flush it with distilled water and use the old style antifreeze. Once the overflow tank gets low I'll alternate topping it off with antifreeze and distilled water
