Thinking about ordering from 'Auto Parts Giant.com', read this:

Thinking about ordering from 'Auto Parts Giant.com' ?
BAD IDEA!

I will never do Business With 'Auto Parts Giant.com' again, and here is why...

On 02-May-08 I ordered a set of Replacement Wheel bearings from 'Auto Parts Giant.com'

Timkin Set 10, x2
Timkin Inner seal x2
Timkin outer seal x2

I asked if the parts were in stock and would they ship promptly. I was told all parts were in stock, and most orders ship withing 1 to 2 days.
OK, I can live with that.

A week later I called because I hadn't received any tracking information...
I was assured the parts were on the way, and there must be something wrong with UPS's email notification service.

My credit card cleared on 12-May-08, and my bank statement reflects that the charge was cleared the same day.
I got an email saying that my

The kept my credit card number laying around for at least 10 days!

SKIP FORWARD TO TODAY,
STILL WAITING!

SO,
Today, Tuesday, 22-May-08, I notice a tracking notice from UPS...
The Auto Parts Giant warehouse JUST NOW dropped the order!

I was flat out lied to last week! and when I ordered
Not only that, but the perfectly good money they got in a timely fashion has been laying in their account for 10 days.

Believe this or not, when I called customer service to find out why it took so long, the kid on the phone cussed me in Spanish (I'm guessing he things us Midwest hillbillys don't get Spanish in school) and hung up on me!

UPS says the delivery won't be until the 28th at the earliest!
Sure glad I didn't have everything torn down waiting on parts that are coming 'Pony Express'....

The sad part was being lied to about inventory, order turn around and about 'Prompt Shipping'...
When you call to tell them there is something wrong with the service, you get cussed out by the Customer Service Manager!

I know California is the 'Left' coast, but acting like that isn't going to get them any repeat business from around here!

Sorry to hear of your run of bad luck with auto parts suppliers. I guess I get spoiled with the NAPA store here in Doylestown, PA. Father In-Law gets a nice employee 20% discount and they always seem to get what I need for my Jeep no matter if it's parts off-the-self or special order from the Chrysler dealer.

I use 4WDHardware and Quadratec as a last resort and never had trouble with them either. Then theirs always you guys in the For Sale section, that seems to be a 50/50 chance of getting a decent part for the money.

If it weren't bad luck, you'd have none at all!

I have had suprisingly good luck with Quadratec. I always feel like I'm paying to much, and they sell some not so great products, but if I order something today it is waiting on my door stop tomorow when I get home from work. It did take them a week to get me the mounting plate for the winch, but I think if I had taken the time to read everything I would have realized that it was shipping from the manufacturer. 4wd hardware is decent, but it usually takes a week. X2 on Napa (when there open, bad hours) and I've done OK with the local advance auto (next day on just about everything), but the guy that runs that place is above average.

I'll take auto parts giant off the OK list. They were never really on it.

There's part of CA that are OK. Crescent City and way up north is fun. I smelled LA from the interstate once and knew I was getting too far south so I turned east.

I win some and lose some, even at the local parts houses. Over-all I have the best luck printing out what I want from partsamerica's website and taking it to my local schucks, they match the price and there isn't any wrong part problems unless I printed the wrong parts off.

On my limited budget I have to get things the cheapest I can no matter where I'm getting them from, even if it causes a little heartache.

Same thing happened to me with Harbor Freight. They had my stuff sitting around for 8 days before they took it to FedEx. after FedEx got it, it went from Ventura, CA to Greenville, NC in 2 days.

PM me your credit card number, expiration date, code on the back, mothers maiden name, drivers license number, SSN, address(es) for the last 5 years and I'll look into the matter for you. Speedy resolution find will you.

Hey JYG!!

Oops, forgot. I'm on his ignore list, so he wouldn't see it if I called him a cawksucker.

Unless, of course, one of you were to quote me.
