Tablet or Laptop for wifey

:wifey:'s laptop needs to be put out to pasture. She wants a tablet. I'd prefer something that is more computer based. She has an iPhone, so she will need to be able to run iTunes.

I don't know shit about tablets, but have been told to stay away from the windows based tablets. Why?

Does the iTunes deal eliminate android based tablets?

Surface RT sucks. Avoid. It's severely crippled. Will not run iTunes. Surface Pro might. But that's way overpriced.

The iTunes requirement really sticks you with a laptop.

Just get her an iMaxipad. If you want her to have a keyboard, you can add them via BT.

I don't use iTunes (hate it) so when I finally buy a tablet it will be Android based. iPad is a good choice though.

I'm not opposed to buying a laptop. It seems like the productivity tablets are more capable than the others. Will Windows 8 or 8.1 run iTunes?

Why is there any debate? If she wants iTunes, has an iPhone, the obvious choice is an iPad. :puzzled:

Can you make iTunes work with other things- yes- but why go through the trouble and the risk an update breaks everything? If it's her tablet why do you care if it is computer based or not?

Don't make this harder than it needs to be.

What will she install iTunes on if she gets an iPad?

Spanky, pics of :wifey: are in the post pics of your SO thread.

That's the issue.

I can get refurbished HP Elitebooks running Win7 for ~$700 from our stellar IT consultant. He brought one in the other day and it was very nice. He can get a fully loaded one for ~$1200. He said they are business laptops and the price includes a 3yr full support warranty.

So you own zero computers that can access iTunes currently?

I'm lost

We have two, mine and hers, both Dells. Mine is a notebook workstation, hers an Inspiron.

If not HP, then what?
