Do you use coupons and gift certificates and penny-pinch?

Do you take a date to the Sizzler b/c you have buy one get one free entree or go to a certain store b/c you have a coupon or save money by buying something one place versus another b/c you are a deft internet price checker?

I get all these great coupons and gift cards and things but always forget to use them or bring them with me so they usually just end up expiring.

I use coupons all the time, never used any on a "date" though. Dont have to worry about that anymore though, the wife and I are both good with our money

Gift Cards - yes. For example Work gave us $25 Gift Cards to the grocery store instead of a free turkey. Pretty good idea
Coupons - wife does at the grocery store
Price check - on large purchases yes.

I don't use coupons because I tend to buy things I don't need simply because I have a coupon for it. I spend less money just going to the store and getting what I need.

i don't think i'm "cheap" by any means - if something is worth buying or if an SO/friend/relative wants/needs something i don't skimp.

however, even if i made 10x the salary i make now, i bet i'd still look for the cheapest price on something. it's not even the saving money aspect of it, it's the principle of why pay more money for something when you can get it for cheaper - like a competition/goal type of thing.

Only clip the coupon for the items you know you need. Rest go in the trash.

I buy store brand as much as possible so coupons are seldom needed.

We don't get a regular local paper, so I rarely have coupons to clip. Giant usually has good stuff on Bonus Card, so I just buy extra when stuff is on sale.

I attempt to save money at every opportunity.
x2, within reason.

It's rare that the gf and I eat out without a coupon. We don't eat crap like Sizzler, but I'll usually grab a coupon from the Entertainment book or from the weekend section of the newspaper. One local place (Humperdink's) always has free entree with purchase of another entree and two beverages.

I do tend to be thrifty about my spending... rarely order anything to drink other than water, for example.

yes the $2 iced teas and cokes are a bit ridikulous.

I'm still waiting to use my coupon for a free rub and tug you gave me.
