Anyone train a pet to use the toilet?

How did you do it? How long did it take? Are the results reliable--does the dog or cat use the toilet 100% of the time, or ever regress and leave a dump in the corner of your bedroom?

We considered it, but it would have to be a bathroom that is seldom used by humans. Be nice if you could teach them to flush too. I hear bengals are super easy to train.

my fish is toilet trained :D


Actually there are several books on it, and dogs can be trained to flush after wards if big enough.

Tried . . . . and failed miserably. F-in' cats ended up pissing in their food dish out of fear of the toilet. . . :swear:

We used one of those plastic litter box things that you slowly cut concentric rings out of to get the cat used to hanging its ass over the water.

The older one of the two was scared ****less (literally) of the water in the toilet and ended up pissing in their food dish.

The Female uses the toilet. Really. She squats over it, and does her business. the Male, he is a fawking dog. he goes out with the mutt, and does his business alongside the dog.

She picked it up when we brought the dog home. the dog liked the cat****, so we moved the litterbox into the bathroom. she saw us using the toilet, and started to use it. She's wierd.

The MAle was like that when we got him from the SPCA. he will NOT drink standing water. It MUST be running from the tap.

Cats have a better memory than every other mammal save humans. Their trainability is suspect though unless they enjoy it. If they don't enjoy what you are trying to train them to, they ignore you. Funny how we became the sentient beings when they are so much like us.
